Bengal · Tagore’s dance of feeling
The lyric spirit of Rabindranritya, taught with care.
The lyrical dance born from Rabindranath Tagore’s songs, seasons, and humanist vision.

“Dance here is not display — it is the body remembering a song.”

The Tradition
Tagore’s songs, carried through movement
Rabindranritya grew from Rabindranath Tagore’s vision at Shantiniketan — a dance that listens to poetry before it moves, shaped by Bengal’s seasons, its folk rhythms, and a philosophy that sees art as a path to the whole human being.
Unlike the fixed grammar of a single classical lineage, it draws freely from lyrical gesture, folk impulse, and classical refinement. At Lāsyamṛta, we teach it as Tagore intended: personally, imaginatively, and with room for your own feeling to enter the form.
Song-led movement
Every step begins in Rabindra Sangeet — melody, mood, and lyric guiding the body.
Seasons & nature
Themes of spring, monsoon, and harvest taught through gesture and spatial imagination.
Folk and classical blend
Elements of Manipuri, Kathakali, and Bengali folk woven into one expressive language.
Open to all hearts
A welcoming form for beginners who wish to dance with feeling rather than rigid technique alone.
In Practice
